BION HARRIGAN

This sequential illustration is an homage to a beautiful film called the Red Balloon, Le Ballon Rouge, by Albert Lamorisse. It is only loosely based on the story and a takes a slightly darker twist on the very sweet coming of age tale first presented in 1956. In the original, a young boy is befriended by a stray balloon who becomes his friend and protector, following him everywhere he goes as he wanders the streets of Paris. Our balloon however has sinister designs on world domination. It terrorizes young Pascal, chasing him through San Francisco, threatening the city and ultimately forcing an act of extreme valor from our young hero.
